Assistant Manager Operations for the Foreign Trade Zone

 

The Assistant Manager of Operations for the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) will support the efficiency and compliance in partnership with the facility Operations Management Team. Working closely with the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for implementing and monitoring operational procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing inbound and outbound shipments. Duties will include assisting in the application of regulatory decisions to product classifications, participating in meetings with stakeholders to review product lines, preparing various reports related to FTZ operations, and providing training and guidance to employees on FTZ requirements. Additionally, it will play a key role in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and profitability within the FTZ operation.

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

The points below highlight the Assistant Manager Operations for the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) duties:

  • Establish and monitor operation procedures for activity such as certification/validation of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, current warehouse inventory sync with FTZ system and timely variance reporting
  • Applies regulatory, judicial, international and /or Customs and Border Protection decisions/views to products being classified
  • Meets with client, FTZ and/or government officials to review FTZ product lines
  • Prepares various reports which assist in daily operations such as: upcoming FTZ related inbounds, daily item variances between Synapse and FTZ systems and other reports as identified.
  • Manages and trains other employees on FTZ requirements and procedures and regulatory compliance
  • Ensures high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently with customers and following up on customer concerns and requests
  • Ensures the profitability of the account/warehouse as applicable

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Receiving and Inventory knowledge
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
