Site Operations Manager

Job Description

  • Support the Regional Warehouse service manager to develop and implement organizational structure to successfully deliver the work of the team.  Including but not limited to Daily management.
  • Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage all warehouse operations, including equipment, capacity and staffing for receiving, shipping, inventory control, and outbound shipping.
  • Monitors and controls the physical distribution activities of the warehouse as well as liaise with related functions in the IBM factory, Geodis ILVC, and customer commercial, and or IT organizations to improve the performance to achieve business targets.
  • Monitor and Manages deliveries including priorities of goods flow to and from the Poughkeepsie site at agreed service levels and provide expert resolution of issues and monitor integration of work.
  • Utilize SAP to manage inventory levels, track shipments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Establishes short and medium term (1-3 years) operational decisions for the business which impact the success of the business.
  • Analyzes unusual and non-recurring client and supply problems requiring action.
  • Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns.
  • Manage the employee life cycle including selection, monitor daily employee performance, coaching, objective, and development, including performance deficiencies and motivation.
  • Project management of cost savings, process improvements/ harmonization, and/or infrastructure changes.
  • Creates a working environment that continuously improves the Health and Safety (H&S) of workers, including identification and management of occupational risk, provision of information and training, review of performance and provision of sufficient resources to maintain an effective H&S program.
  • Utilize corporate support for HR, Security, and Safety as needed
  • Generate monthly invoice and ensure GEODIS is paid for what we do
  • Maintain timekeeping and personnel records.
  • Attending training on subjects of ISO, safety, business controls, etc. and cascade to your team.
  • Communicate with employees and other department supervisors and managers on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to other company internal projects.
