Summary:
An Operations Manager – Carrier Sales is responsible for the Carrier Sales Department’s management of load coverage and carrier base development. The goal is to maximize margin by leveraging marketing intel and carrier relationships while maintaining operational excellence. This position will require that you regularly find process improvement areas to gain the most efficiency possible without an impact to service.

Your role on the team:
- Develops, coaches, and mentors a team of Carrier Sales and Carrier Operations Representatives to maximize productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Works with direct reports to identify and engage carriers and negotiates the best rates and service possible for GEODIS customers
- Oversees load coverage and delivery execution; Maintains operational compliance and prioritizes resources to ensure all loads are covered in a timely, efficient manner
- Studies and understands transport market rates and capacity trends to ensure carrier coverage and increase margin earnings
- Partners with the Customer Sales team to respond to prospective customer quotes and RFP/RFQ requests
- Ensures all tariffs, fees, and accessorials built into our transportation management system are accurate and reflect negotiated rates
- Other duties as required and assigned
What you need: (requirements)
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/Logistics, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing or related studies preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of freight brokerage experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of the full truckload spot and contracted markets is required
- Strong understanding of carrier operations, rate structures, contracts, and tariffs
- Previous employee management experience highly preferred
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
