Job Description

Primary Duties
* Listens/Monitors to ensure the Dispatchers appropriately receive orders and assign shipments
* Dispatches all runs in a timely manner to ensure deliveries are made as scheduled
* Provides customers with accurate and timely information regarding activity
* Determines work procedures and ensures SOP’s are completed and accurate
* Prepares work schedules and training for hourly employees
* Approves and tracks all hourly team members work schedules
* Assists Terminal Manager
* Compiles list of available vehicles
* Assigns vehicles according to factors such as purpose of trip, freight requirements, and
preference of user
* Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return
* Directs activities of drivers via call or texts
* Tracks in-transit shipments
* Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged
* Establishes service or delivery routes

Minimum Requirements


* Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training

* Prior Dispatching experience in a fast-moving environment preferred
* Critical Understanding/Emphasis on time-sensitive deliveries dealing with medications, specimens
and results

Essential Skills

* Ability to solve problems in a quick manner, as time is of the essence
* Geographical understanding and comprehension a plus
* Certifications in HIPPA Training & Blood Borne Pathogen Training a plus
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manual
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle,
or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The
employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally
exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting
and temperate climate conditions.
