Packaging & Customization Operations Director
The Packaging & Customization Operations Director is responsible for setting the standards of execution for operations and ensuring adherence through partnerships with operational leaders and direction of the Center of Excellence (COE) Champions. They are expected to broaden the support of our PACS related business by overseeing packaging operations and providing guidance as it relates to engineering, pricing, and performance measurement.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The points below highlight the Packaging & Customization Operations Director duties:
Establishes tools and best practices to ensure project quoting and execution generate revenue in line with organizational targets
Drives the fundamental requirements of the PACS COE matrix and provides a roadmap for campuses to achieve objectives
Serves as a subject matter expert for packaging and customization workflows including but not limited to light manufacturing, assembly, kitting and quality management
Develops plans for effective use of materials, equipment and employee resources; Identifies opportunities to increase efficiency of packaging and customization operations through process improvements and training
Serves as a champion of the LEAN culture; spends time on the “shop floor” coaching employees to focus on safety, quality and productivity; Ensures consistency of operational processes for all sites within span of responsibility
Provides detailed review of financial and operational metrics results for all operating locations assigned while developing and executing against corrective action as needed; Understands process performance versus target objectives, identifies reasons for variance, communicates and implements necessary changes
Reviews packaging and customization operational P&Ls to identify improvement opportunities; coordinates with campus leadership to adjust execution that meets profit targets
Develops relationships with leadership throughout the organization to ensure alignment with packaging and customization best practices and strategies
Participates in the management of turnover among salary and hourly staff consistent with the site turnover objectives; Coordinates with HR and operations to institute programs designed to ensure consistent availability of cost-effective temporary labor pools; Participates in effective succession planning activities for operating locations
Focuses on organic growth with existing customers by identifying continuous improvement opportunities through collaboration with operations, engineering and supporting workstreams’ Builds business cases and creates a sense of urgency within the organization to focus on continuous improvement
What projects will you work on in this role?
You will ensure execution against customer requirements and operational performance; and provide detailed review of financial results and operational metrics. This position will also support Business Development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university
Master’s degree is preferred
Minimum 7 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of packaging, light manufacturing and assembly
Experience in a 3PL environment preferred
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Processes
Experience in Autonomous Maintenance and Standardization
