Your role on the team: 

  • Supports the Americas Ethics & Compliance VP with implementation of each pillar of the E & C Program. Training Program (Global and Regional), Policies, Audit, Risk Map, Program Assessment, Investigations, Third-party control, Reporting Mechanism, etc.
  • Develop and conduct in person or virtual trainings to support E & C initiatives, policies and processes in all LoBs.
  • Supports the implementation of corporate compliance programs and policies (e.g. Code of Ethics, Anticorruption - Bribery and Influence Peddling, Fair Competition, Speak Up, Know Your Business Partner (KYBP), Gift and Invitation, Conflict of Interest policies, etc.)
  • Provides guidance on compliance with governmental regulations, customer specifications, and internal business integrity policies.
  • Supports local Compliance Network in the US and Canada, implementing the Ambassador program in all LoBs.
  • Supports members of the Ethics and Compliance department within their region, sharing best practices.
  • Participates and supports operations in regulatory and third-party audits and RFP - RFQ / BID / Tender/ DD Questionnaire from the E &C perspective.
  • Implements KYBP policy in all LoBs, in partnership with Procurement and Business Excellence, ensuring that each step of the vetting process with Vendors is completed according to the risk assessment, including the trainings on GEODIS Supplier CoC to all High-Risk vendors.
  • Implements KYBP policy in all LoBs, in partnership with Operation and Finance, ensuring that each step of the vetting process with Customers is completed according to the risk assessment.
  • Conducts periodically audits to ensure compliance with the GEODIS ethics and compliance processes, covering GEODIS Compliance Portal for Gift and Invitation registration and Trade / Professional Association participation, KYBP level of completion.
  • Identifies areas of non-compliance as results of the program assessment in all LoBs and works with leadership to meet these challenges and provide solutions.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains the Geodis USA and Canada Ethics and Compliance Roadmap and track the actions with the key areas.
  • Ensure targeted and necessary ethics and compliance communications reach employees (e.g. Ethics and Compliance Week activities and E&C Monthly Tips).
  • Participate in ethics and compliance investigations or Compliance cases under the supervision of the Ethics and Compliance VP for the Americas and legal.
  • Directs employees with compliance concerns or allegations to the ethics and compliance department or our Ethics and Compliance Alert Line in the Region or Global Chanel.
  • Participates in the Corrective Action process relevant to ethics and compliance issues post investigations and monitor the remediation actions to avoid recurrency.
  • Engages in new/expanded business to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are adhered to.
  • Reports compliance directives and issues to leadership and management of all LoBs.
  • Travels to GEODIS sites as required and routinely interacts with personnel to monitor all established ethics and compliance activities in place. Ensure that they are effective and continue to produce desired results.
  • Advises leaders within the company and works alongside employees in the Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, and Transportation, in addition to Regional Support functions.
  • Manages various Ethics and Compliance projects and deadlines, participating in the E & C Program assessment and benchmark.
  • Active participation in the E & C Program integration after any M & A transaction in the US and Canada.
  • Maintains strong working knowledge of changes that may affect company, customers, and/or affiliates under the E & C Program.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

What you need: 

  • 5+ years of experience in a compliance role with particular experience in anticorruption, fair competition, conflict of interest, investigations, risk control, third-party management, Due Diligence, fraud and money laundering.
  • PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Is aware of laws and regulations that affect the organization's ethics and compliance policies.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and assimilate regulations and technical documents.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and high-demanding environment.
  • Dynamic leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to perform duties using project management principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Superior problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide clear and direct communications both verbally and in written form.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage own work.
  • Self –motivated and able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to travel in and outside the United States.
