Job Description
The Account Service Analyst will be responsible for developing relationships with existing internal transportation planners in order to arranges for the movement of freight in a non-asset brokerage business and works in coordination with other company business units, and carrier procurement partners. The Account Service Analyst (GCS) is heavily involved in quoting spot rates, pricing, RFP/bid response and must have a strong understanding of industry trends to determine optimal cost and service requirements to meet customer needs. The Account Service Analyst (GCS) is responsible to grow revenue, margin and load count for assigned accounts by securing profitable spot freight and contracted lane opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Job Duties:
Professionally performs all aspects of freight brokerage customer service through direct communication, both electronic and telephonic, with transportation planners and carrier procurement partners
Identifies and analyzes customer requirements and ensures that the level of service provided meets or exceeds customer expectations
Actively bid on spot freight opportunities and increase win percentage by representing the value proposition of internal brokerage services
Enters load details in TMS (MercuryGate); coordinates appointment setting with customer and executes highly proactive communication with customer
Works with Carrier Team to ensure that all client shipments are proactively booked and tracked for on time pickup or delivery
Uses various transportation systems to coordinate movement of freight, to meet customers’ rate and service time requirements
Sets and meets deadlines as per customer expectations
Delivers against growth and profitability targets
Researches and determines growth opportunities within each customer. Leads efforts to increase efficiency and profitability of operations
Other duties as required and assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing or related studies preferred
Minimum 2 years of related experience with a heavy concentration on brokerage operations
Experience with Transportation Management Systems, market rate tools/software, analysis with large data sets
PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
Excellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customers.
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Knowledge of domestic transportation and documentation for all utilized modes of transport
Knowledge of regulatory compliance associated with US truck freight brokerage
Excellent personnel development skills
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to travel when applicable
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
