What you will be doing:
- Select appropriate carrier and routing based on shipment characteristics or customer requirements.
- Communicate with carrier to confirm booking and receive shipping details.
- Review customer documentation, confirm as correct and complete or request revised documents.
- Follow Geodis SOP – standard operating procedure – for standard requirements.
- Follow customer specific SOP for additional customer specific requirements.
- Identify shipments requiring special handling and regulatory compliance due to shipment characteristics or value, documentation, commodity, country of origin or destination, shipper, or consignee.
- Enter the required information into Geodis freight management system.
- Print and review documentation, confirm as correct and complete.
- Complete invoicing and billing process
- Comply with all applicable regulations.
- Prepare rate quotations for customers.
- Handling of claims (OS&D) as necessary
- KPI reporting, leading periodic performance meetings with customers and carriers
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.
- Knowledge of the movement of freight via air and/or truck
- Knowledge of Hazmat shipping requirements
- DG (Dangerous Goods) certification preferred.
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Work, Access, and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to multitask, organize & prioritize workflow.
- Mathematical skills are essential to ensure accuracy in pricing.
- Ability to provide high level of service.
